Mosquitoes

mosquito.jpg

Mosquitoes are an extremely prevalent species that are often found near puddles and grassy areas. They feed by using their piercing mouthpart to suck blood; though only female mosquitoes do this as they require blood to reproduce. Male mosquitoes do not bite, but both genders feed on the nectar of flowers.

Mosquito bites become inflamed and itchy within few hours causing blistering, bruising and inflammatory reaction. They can transmit viral diseases like malaria and yellow fever which can be fatal.
